Jessica Mae Sumikawa

Jessica Mae Sumikawa serves as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel of Origence, where she leads the Legal, Compliance, and Enterprise Risk Management functions. In this role, she advises the organization on strategic legal initiatives, supports the development and launch of new products, and strengthens Origence’s overall risk and regulatory posture as the company continues to grow.

Jessica Mae brings more than a decade of legal and executive leadership experience across dynamic, highly regulated industries. Prior to joining Origence, she spent nine years in the renewable energy sector, helping to scale one of the nation’s fastest-growing clean-energy companies. There, she managed complex regulatory and commercial matters, guided high-stakes corporate initiatives, and partnered closely with technology and operational teams to enable rapid, mission-driven innovation with high-performing teams helping the organization scale responsibility and successfully.

Earlier in her career, Jessica Mae served as in-house legal counsel, advising clients on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues and representing companies in high-stakes litigation and investigations. She is known for her pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach and her commitment to building business-aligned, modern legal and compliance organizations.

Jessica Mae earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Juris Doctor from Thomas Cooley Law School.
